There is reason to believe that speaking with tongues occurred in the other two (2) Holy Spirit baptism events recorded in the Bible: the samaritans: 8:14-19 and Paul’s conversation: 9:17-18).ġ4 Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John: 15 Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost: 16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) 17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost. On three (3) of these occasions, the baptism is clearly accompanied by speaking with tongues as a sign of the baptism (Pentecost: 2:1-4 Gentiles of Judea: 10:44-47 and the Ephesians: 19:1-6). The Book of Acts has five (5) occasions of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. (See Holy Spirit Baptism is Biblical, but the Pentecostal Movement is Demonic and Fraudulent: A Response) If false evidence is presented then nothing is proven. By evidence we mean that the authentic speaking with tongues is the initial sign of Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Also, like false prophets, there are false tongue speakers. It is known that the devil speaks with tongues and pagan cults speak with tongues. By evidence, we do not mean that everyone who speaks in tongues is Baptized in the Holy Spirit.
